How to choose a t-shirt for custom printing

Fabric weight, cotton vs blends, colour and fit: a quick guide to picking the right blank tee so your print looks great and lasts.

Picking the right blank t-shirt makes a big difference to how your print looks and how long it lasts. Here is what we look at when helping a customer choose.

Fabric weight

Heavier shirts (around 6 oz and up) feel more substantial and hold their shape after many washes. Lighter shirts are cooler in summer and cost a bit less. For most orders, a mid-weight cotton tee is the sweet spot.

Cotton vs blends

100% cotton gives the softest hand and the most natural print. Blends (cotton and polyester) wick moisture and resist shrinking, which makes them popular for teams and active wear.

Colour and contrast

Light prints pop on dark garments and vice versa. With DTF printing you are not limited by colour count, so you can choose the shirt colour that fits your brand and we will make the design work on top.

Fit and sizing

Check a size chart before you order for a group. Sizing varies by brand, so treat the chart as a guide and confirm fit in store if you are unsure.
